Actually… and it’s delicious!

This is another way to have wholesome tasty whole grain breakfast that’s simple and quick to prepare, and if it must be, it can easily pack to work, school, or wherever you have to be.

Just remember that a smoothie is still a meal, and while it may not require much chewing it still needs to spend some time in your mouth for your salivary glands to be able to assist your spleen with some carbohydrate predigestion to at least a minimally acceptable level. Consider the words of Ghandi, “chew you drink and drink your food.”

Blueberries are our go-to frozen fruit, second only to the frozen bananas we use to make dairy-free ice cream. Blueberries go well in smoothies and bowls of porridge, and they’re fairly easy to find from regional (Canadian) producers, not to mention that they’re also native to North America. I like to complement them with some seeds and nut butter for added nutrition and texture.

Enjoy!
